So Blessed...

...to have such a great Mom & Mother-in-law to help us out! I don't know what I would do without them!! My Mom had taken the week off of work to get some things done at her house & the lake house...but ended up taking care of Grayson & I from Monday until Thursday. 

On August 8, 2011(Monday) I woke up feeling nauseated (which was a normal post delivery feeling for me) so I took a nausea pill and laid back down. When Bradley got home, I took a long hot shower which made me feel a little better. Then I nursed Grayson for what would turn out to be the very last time :( ...because around 9:15pm I started vomiting. Bradley called my mom & she was at my house within 25 minutes. They both knew something wasn't right because I NEVER get sick. My mom spent the night to take care of Grayson & I.

The next morning(Tuesday) I went to the doctor and he said it looked like I had the 24 hour stomach bug & should feel better in a day or two. Well, I was still vomiting that evening so my Mom stayed the night again & cooked Bradley a yummy dinner.

On Wednesday, my MIL Aimee came over to take care of Grayson & I while my Mom ran a few errands. I started vomiting again that night so my Mom ended up taking me to the ER. Surprise...I had the Stomach Flu & a UTI, and I was contagious!! I started to feel better after having a bag of IV fluids pumped in my body!
On Thursday I stayed in bed all day and started feeling a little better. My MIL came over to take care of me while Bradley was at work & my Mom took Grayson to her house for the night. This was his first night away from home & from me...I missed him terribly.

On Friday morning, my Mom brought Grayson home & Aimee took care of us until Lyndsey came over to relieve her. Lyndsey & DC spent the night so she could take care of Grayson for us. I stayed in bed again all day & was finally feeling much better. 

The hardest part of it all was staying away from Grayson so he wouldn't get it. He would look over at me & I would just start crying because I just wanted to hold him & love on him but I didn't dare want him to get sick. 

**I cannot say Thank You enough to my Mom, MIL, and my best friend Lyndsey, for taking care of Grayson & I this past week while I had the stomach flu! We are truly B.L.E.S.S.E.D!!

Grayson & I met Lyndsey, Alé, Natalie, Kim & her kids at the pool. Grayson & Levi are 2 months apart, they just looked at each other & "talked!" It was so cute. 

Grayson LOVED being outside sitting by the pool. He just watched Cole jump in the water and splash around. He would straighten his arms & legs and coo, like he really wanted to get in the water. 

Happy Anniversary

4 years ago today I married the love of my life!!! Happy Anniversary Bradley! Thanks for being such an amazing husband & father! 

Bradley & I celebrated our 4 year anniversary with a delicious dinner at Flemings. This was our first date without Grayson. Bradley's parents came to our house to babysit him {for the 1st time} while we went to dinner. We weren't even out of the neighborhood yet & I already shed a few tears. Grayson gave us a wonderful anniversary gift, he slept 7 1/2 straight hours tonight {10pm-5:30am}. 

 

 

Family Get Together

~July 17, 2011~

Bradley & I try to have both of our families over for dinner every few months. We always have a good time just sitting around chatting & watching TV. Well, this time was a little different because we have Grayson :) We still had a good time but the grandparents were put to work...the grandfathers put the changing table together & the grandmothers were in charge of Grayson (feeding, rocking, changing, etc) while Bradley & I relaxed on the couch :)

~July 15, 2011~

Grayson & I spent the day with Mimi at her house...she watched Grayson while I took a long afternoon nap :) Later that evening, the rest of the family came over for dinner.

I cannot believe my baby boy is already 1 month old! He is getting so big & growing too fast! And he still has the most hair I've ever seen on a baby! 

I am enjoying every minute of Motherhood!!!

 G surprised me this morning and took a 5 hour nap :) 

-Sleeps 4 straight hours at night

{2am-6am, he's a great sleeper}

-Eating 3-4 oz. about every 4 hours  

{he is still nursing at night & early morning and I'm pumping during the day to build up a supply}

-We are still supplementing with formula 

{since my milk supply got off to a slow start b/c of the extreme nausea the first week home}

-Still in Newborn clothes

-Smiles randomly, usually when he is asleep

-Makes the cutest facial expressions & cooing noises

-Recognizes sounds & turns toward them

-Moves head side to side

-Moves hands to face

-Can hold his head up solo for a minute or two

-Discovered his hands

-He is so alert & aware of everything

-He is holding his head up pretty good during tummy time 

-He is staying awake a little more during the day

*Likes: 

-To be held

-To be rocked

-To be cuddled

-To be swaddled

-His swing

-Evening strolls

-Car rides

-Tub tub time

-Looking at faces

-Sitting in the boppy

-Laying in the newborn napper part of the pack n play 

{he just looks around & moves his arms around}

-Napping with his arms up by his head

-Sleeping with his hands by his face {see the last picture above}

*Dislikes:

-If we swaddle him too tight & he can't get his hands by his face

-Taking pictures when he is cold
